Art Guild
|
Welcome to Anyone at Any Time
|

Every Wednesday after school, Mrs. Wiley hosts the Art Guild until five in the afternoon. It all started seven years ago, when Principal Tuttle wanted her to paint a mural in front of the school. After that, other projects started coming along-another mural, a painting in the gym-when finally; Mrs. Wiley decided to start the art club. And so the Art Guild was born
About 30 students are members, but only 20 attend to the meeting after school regularly. In this Guild, members are able to work on their art projects for school they don’t have enough time to finish, or any other project they wish that isn’t available in class.Read More

To show their unity and spirit on being drug free, the students at Bayside High school decided to express their pride through music. To be more specific, they chose to do it through rap.
Most people do not know what the ASVAB test is. ASVAB in an acronym standing for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The ASVAB is a national, norm, multi- aptitude test battery that has been provided to high schools and post secondary schools since 1968.The ASVAB Career Exploration Program was developed with input from a panel of career development experts and was designed to encourage students to increase their self knowledge.
The ASVAB test is generally separated into sections, for example, mechanics, math, writing, science, and natural science. Junior Joseph Sieber exclaimed, “The test was all about showing were your strengths and weaknesses are in the military, and if you want to join the military it would show where your best skills would be most appreciated.”Read More |

Teams and clubs got group pictures taken together on Friday. Students in Yearbook were in charge of the pictures, lining up students, and double checking to see that the pictures would come out right. Each picture took a small amount of time depending on the size of the group.
A lot of the groups wore matching T-shirts. Students were asked to line up from shortest to tallest, and were then directed to stand in front of the bear. The taller students stood in the back, as the shorter students stood in the front, and some were asked to sit down.Read More |

Bayside Bears Anticipate Action |
|
By: Jessica Deeter |

On November 21, 2008 our very own Bayside Bears football team is going into the playoffs. Though the opposing team, Atlantic, seems to be a formidable foe, our team is confident in their abilities to do well.
The entire team agrees that even though Atlantic is undefeated, they don’t seem unbeatable. Claiming that our season has been tougher than theirs seems to be the rod of hope that keeps our team alive and itching for a good game.
“If our defense works together as one then this will be a piece of cake.” Richard Burrows, team quarter back, kicker and punter asserted adamantly, clearly confident in the teams abilities. “Every game leading up to this has helped us prepare for this moment. I’m confident that we will go deep into the playoffs.”Read More |
Heritage High School- Too Close to Home?

The new high school being built comes with tricks up its' sleeves
|

As the ground broke for Palm Bay's future new high school, no one really thought twice about what the consequences of this new endeavor would hold for Bayside students. But as the first semester comes steadily to a close, the time is rapidly shortening for some incoming and current freshmen in regards to their place at Bayside.
The new school, given the name Heritage High, will open it's freshly painted doors in the 2009-2010 school year. Students currently attending Southwest, enrolled in the eighth grade, who are in the zoned area for Heritage will be place in this school next year, instead of the usual choice of Bayside. This holds true for certain freshman meeting the same stipulations on zoning. Instead of coming back here next year, some will be plucked from their friends, classes and usual routine that is Bayside and place in Heritage. Juniors and seniors will be offered the choice, though nothing will be mandatory. But is this really fair?Read More |
